The Search Continues

In late summer of 2012 a search was conducted using search dogs specifically trained in human remains detection. The volunteers spent several hours working on this search and traveled for a long distance to assist the Blumhorst family.  Due to confidentiality and security, the name of the organization and the searchers are not available and the photos below will not show any human searcher in detail.

Two separate locations were searched. The first location was on private property and permission from the owner was obtained, there was no indication of human remains present on the property and the search team was extremely confident no human remains are anywhere on the property The second was in a wooded area in Lee county. Both canines made two separate indications of human remains in two separate locations that were several hundred feet apart from each other. The dogs were switched for verification and similar indications were made at both locations. Due to environmental conditions, another search is on hold until the environment is more favorable for a more detailed search of the area.

The Blumhorst family continues to seek answers to the disappearance of Veronica; they have vowed to not stop in their search until they find her remains and secure justice in the criminal justice system for Veronica.
